December Generosity Challenge!
Christmas is in the air! This is the time of the year where we focus on the greatest gift: the birth of OUR Savior, Jesus Christ! God in kindness saw our need and generously gave to us through the blessing of His Son Emmanuel, who is God with us.
In the Bible, there are many examples of generosity. Consider the story of the Good Samaritan. We need more Good Samaritans in the world and especially during this time of the year.
As you look at the text, notice how the Samaritan man was willing to slow down, see the wounded person, stop, show kindness and give of himself generously. He gave of his time and his energy, not just his money to bring refreshment and help to another human being who needed him. Sometimes, when we see a need because we are so busy, it’s easy to throw money towards it. But it’s a different kind of sacrifice to give your time and energy and bring your presence to a situation.
Living out this type of sacrifice is the kind of remarkable life we have been called to live as The Remarkable Woman. We must create the kind of unhurried presence that makes it a priority to serve, support and refresh those who have fallen, are wounded and can’t move forward.
I invite you to step into a special generosity challenge this month that ladies in the Remarkable Life by Design membership group are doing now! Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to slow down so that you can see those around you who are wounded and can’t move forward.
Instead of being judgmental and critical seek to show up and be a Good Samaritan in that person’s life. Show kindness. Look for ways to refresh their broken spirit. Often, such intention involves setting aside your plans for the day or evening so you can be present with someone in their time of need.
Maybe your child had a rough day and needs to talk. Stop what you are doing and listen. Perhaps your friend was injured or feeling under the weather and needs someone to run errands for her. Challenge yourself give the gift of your time by being a remarkably Good Samaritan today. Comment below or on the Remarkable Living Institute Facebook page and share how you generously gave your time and energy! I can’t wait to hear your stories!
