Reflecting Remarkably on 2017

In a matter of hours, 2017 will be no more.

Did you live your life by design or default this year? Are you finishing strong? If not what has stopped you from living your best remarkable life this year? It’s beneficial to take some time and consider the lessons learned from the challenges and struggles you experienced in 2017.  And see how God can use them to set you up for what could be your best remarkable year in 2018!

This past year, I encountered some challenges and struggles that didn’t initially feel like a blessing but as I look back over my life I can see the blessings. Sometimes it’s as simple as God providing the strength and courage to endure the hardships of life like a good soldier. Not crumbling under the pressure, learning to meditate through it, and choosing to rest in the midst of the storms have been remarkable accomplishments. God continues to refine me as I live my best remarkable life with grace and ease. Be encouraged, I know that the same is happening in your life.

Today, before you begin your New Year’s Eve festivities, take a moment to pour a cup of tea and carve out some time in your Sabbath to contemplate. Grab your journal or a piece of paper. Sip and share your thoughts on these questions:

  • What mistakes did you make in 2017?
  • Do you see a pattern to any of your mistakes?
  • What were your lessons learned from the mistakes, challenges, and struggles faced in 2017?
  • How did those challenges make you stronger?
  • What did God do through those lessons to shape and change your life and shape you into a Remarkable Woman?

Make sure to Celebrate your successes. Remember, God causes all things to work together in life for our good. When you apply what you’ve learned from last year, you can expect some great things to happen. Appreciate them and be proud of yourself. This is the best way to ensure good things keep happening. Reinforce your behavior by feeling good about yourself:

  • What were your biggest wins?
  • What moments made you laugh from your gut?
  • Who had the most positive impact on your life?

This year as you pushed beyond your breaking point, what remarkableness did you create?

  • What ways did you recreate you into a better version of yourself?
  • What daily routines did you create that allowed you to REST more?

Lastly, living a remarkable life is about restfully living impactfully. God has designed you to live a life that matters. Making a remarkable impact involves considering what you will uniquely contribute to add value and make someone’s life better. Reflect on the contributions you made this past year:

  • What new skill did you learn?
  • How did you use it to enrich the lives of others?

Get ready, 2018 is almost here! I’m determined that this will be my best remarkable year. And, I’m committed to journeying with you serving and supporting you with resources that will empower you to do the same, but…with grace and ease.
